contoc – Survey
Dear colleagues in ministries and pastoral work,
The particular situation of the Corona pandemic has challenged all of you as pastoral workers, pastors and priests.
Through this international and ecumenical survey we would like to learn more about what has moved you during this time, what role digital forms of communication in particular have played in your pastoral and parish practice, and what opportunities and challenges you have discovered for the Church as a result of this crisis.
The research team has intensively addressed the question of which actors can be included in such a survey. Organizational and questionnaire-specific necessities also influenced the decision.
These considerations ultimately led to a focus on the pastors – knowing full well that much of the digital innovation was not organized by them. Precisely because our impression and our research shows that a great many people and groups are actually involved in the parishes in these times, the integration of all those responsible would have resulted in a survey design that could not have been realized. Both the thematic uniformity and the evaluation options would not have been possible.
In this way, we are trying to get an overview of a whole range of aspects of community interaction and cooperation. Depending on the results of this survey, a good basis will emerge for approaching other responsible actors in the municipalities with further qualitative methods in the medium term. This is also important and necessary for us because, in church theory, we believe that only a truly participatory church culture of communication and action is sustainable.
If you belong to the target group of the survey, which will take about 30 minutes, you will receive a link from your institution that will lead you to the contoc survey. If you have not yet received a link and you would like to participate in the survey, please contact the responsible office in your institution or send us an inquiry using the form below.
